Is it worth Splashing out the cash on an ultimate turbo trainer.
I see the top drawer cycleops has excellent adjustment in power settings, data recording etc.
Other companies out there offer virtual trainers?
It would be nice to here some views on these products.

if you will use it a *lot* with a proper training program then it might be worth it, but it'll still be mind-buggeringly boring

the virtual reality ones add a bit more interest, but i think you need enough space to leave it set up, and i reckon it'll still be boring after a while

for instrumented training, a more flexible approach is a powertap/similar on the bike, then use a garmin/whatever to log everything - power, hr, speed, altitude, cadence - and the power measurement will still work if the bike is put on a basic turbo
my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny

IMO you would get better vfm and more out of it buying a low spec powertap and a reasonable turbo with some training videos. You can also use the powertap on the road too!
