If you could pick five other posters (who you don't know personally) off this site to have a sociable drink with who would they be.

In no particular order miy selection would probably be:

Teagar (though for some reason he's not posted for a while)

Nicensleazy (so that we could talk about the best bands of the late 70s, featuring the Clash and the Pistols but coincidentally omitting the Stranglers, just for the fun of it) and Dmclite (I figure he could start a fight in an empty room/kebab shop so that would make for an interesting night )

Oh, NapD and STEFANOS4784, just so they could compare notes on what being a jobsworth means to them...

Normally the only lists I make are the ignore ones. I'll put you on mine along with Dennis N, and Softlad. Heavymental would be there too but he hasn't been around for a while.

One to go still, I'll have to have a think, though I'm sure any regular forummer would be entertaining company.

How about GiroJezmo as a wild card? We could lock him in the toilet and and throw water bombs over the door.

I'll also take Fast as Fupp, Black Panther, Teagar and that nutcase who came on here slagging off every cycling club he's been in. Then I'll sit back and enjoy.

If anyone wants to take me, I'll put in a round, cos I need to meet some other cyclists, haven't met any for more than 3 months. . I just couldn't get my bike over to Slovenia with me, which is a pity because there are some fantastic Ardennes-style hills where I'm living.

Thank you for pointing that out. I know this will sound like a load of b*llocks but you were supposed to be there, it's an oversight. The 'and Will so we can all 'Father' him' was an added extra, as I think he needs us six to look after him. Put that Leonard Cohen record away before it's too late!

I'm amazed nobody has invited Spen666. :shock: (unless there is some intricate legal reason that none of us knows why that could never happen )

Spen, that bloke who got banned for hating cycling clubs and the BNP guy would be a cracking night out. (i.e. things would get broken).

Imagine the scene after a few pints, inhibitions laid aside and honest opinions brandished for all to enjoy!

Will could be responsible for getting the drinks and Napoleon could call for back-up when things got really lively.

I'm really enjoying this, just a shame in all reallity we'll probably only ever converse over the 'tinternet.

Never say never, Frank. We could have an un-official cakestop meet up centrally for a sportive or self organised ride and an overnight stop after. I'm up for anything up to a hilly century then a curry and several jars after. we could invite everyone on our 5 lists and see who turns up.

I've been off the bike for about five months and have now re-discovered my mojo so it'll take me a few months to get up to rides of any sort of distance. i.e. did 42mile on Friday and I was all in, even though the pace was pedestrian. But now there is a possible insentive.

I think it's one for the "back burner" one way or another.

I'm up for that, I'd love to meet my list and others. I think we should do it sooner rather than later. I'm willing to travel to wherever almost any time. All we need is a 'centralish' meet up point, and a Travelodge etc near a town with a decent pub and ruby house. Come on let's just choose a Saturday night and go for it. (Frank don't worry I'll be drafting you ). Even if only five or six turned up it would be worth it.
Do you think, after we meet, it would make our forum discussions harder or easier with those we met?

dmclite - I've double checked your post and see I'm not listed! Don't worry though I'm not bitter and I don't hold grudges - you're still on mine. Look forward to buying you a pint or two. :P
