Hope Pro 2 with Spank Stiffy or Tweet Tweet rims and DT Swiss black DB spokes would be my choice of wheels for thrashing

jay- what's wrong with saints? i thought you would need the extra strength over xt for 4x?

fair point but for 4x you want the bike to be light, alot of weight can be saved on wheels

Hope Pro II hubs on Stan's ZTR FLOW rims with DT Swiss Competition D/B black spokes and DT Swiss brass nipples

then use Roval blue tape and Stan's valve cores, and Specialized Control FAST TRAK tires (dual compound, kevlar bead, tubeless ready, sub 500 grammes), run with 2-3 cups of Stan's Solution (tubeless sealent, so no inner tubes = no punctures or pinch flats)

you will not find a tougher, stronger, grippier set of wheels at such a low weight and affordable price, as this combo

I personally run Pro IIs on ZTR Flows on both my mountain bikes, and the Fast Trak tires with Stan's No-Tubes on my Mythic Rampant which is my 4X / DS / Pump Track bike - soon to be seen in MBUK's forthcoming article on Esher Shore's new "Pump Track"

  • Cheers guys. How much would the pro 2 and ZTR flows be and would I have to build them up myself? Also, would I have to run them tubeless because I dont know if I can be bothered with the extra hassle.
