Brake Upgrade

Hi,
I'm not a roadie, but the brakes on my Boardman Road Comp seem really bad, I'm used to disks on my mountain bikes, so I'm looking for some more stopping power over the Tektro R720. :?
I quite like the look of these Planet X Ultra Light FORGED Brake Callipers or would I be better off with Shimano 105 calipers?
Any recommendations of brake pad?
Anything else I should be looking at the bike has Tiagra brake levers.
Thanks,
Paul

i would avoid those as they are single pivot and oriented to save weight. They are quite fiddly to set up too. If i were you i would get a set of sram force brakes. Under 90 quid at cyclesportsuk this weekend, they are super adjustable, look great and are not too heavy. They also come with swisstop brake pads, some of the best you can buy. Failing that because them being too expensive i would get a set of shimano 105 or sram rival.x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

I have the same brakes, not the best. Bought a couple sets of salmon koolstops which made all the difference. Just put mine on the front which is the strongest brake. Cheaper than upgrading the brakes and gives you confidence in the wet or dry. You'll need the shimano compatible koolstops, dura ace/ultegra/105.Pinno, מלך אידיוט וחרא מכונאי0
