Just see this on the BBC. Apparently an American store in London had a clothing sale in Brick Lane. Because they closed the store, it all kicked off. People seem to result to sheer violence very quickly. It appears to be the sign of the times! No respect for anyone! Just a shame these Police officers didn't have taser!

It's surprising how quickly emotion can take over from rational thought. Someone sees somsone else get handled roughly by a police officer and that usually sparks it, that or they ran out of Snoop Dog's latest line in trainers. Shizzle Ma Fizzle...

Has to be said, police were a bit Sh*t at getting that one guy under control.....do you think they are all a bit scared to use any show of strength due to the number of cameras around.

Guy was causing all sorts of chaos and damage, he should have been put under control, not allowed to run off.
  • Its a shame the police didn't beat the sh1t out of every single one of the idiots acting up.

Behaviour like that requires the appropriate level of force. Namely big sticks and grumpy underfed German Shepherds.

  • I am utterly baffled how the prospect of a few items of slightly reduced price clothing can reduce people to behaving like a pack of animals... totally bizarre... and totally inexcusible...

It's the same at sales (not DFS sales, they have one every week). I went into town for new year's sales and town centre was like a cattle market. People barging past each other trying to get the cheapest items; whether they needed them or not. Personally I buy most of my clothes from charity shops, 2 pairs of Armani jeans for £1.50 a pair? Thank you!

Worked at River Island for a short period and the mark up on clothing is insane. £100 suit cost me £25, I got a 75% discount on almost everything, had a great time! Sadly I turned 20 and they said I was too old, it was a Logan's Run style escape before they fed me to Matalan...

Can't blame the old bill for not whacking them - all those camera is just begging for a media frenzy at the cost of some policemans job. A few more tazers sounds good to me. Or a few more Gene Hunts!!

It just seems like they are enjoying taking a chance to engage in a bit of disorder. Its a shame. It seems yoofs like a bit of that. Unfortunately police attendance is damned either way. Turn up and stop it and they want to fight more and feel "honoured" someone is paying them attention, dont engage them and the risk is they carry on causing carnage plus quite rightly the poor public perception.

If it had been a picket line where people have a genuine grievence and were trying to protect there livelyhoods I'm sure such a police response would have resulted.
