My brakes are old 105 single-pivot bought in 1989. Recently installed budgetish Miche dual pivot brakes on bike for wife and was surprised at their quality.

Is it worth replacing mine? I.e. how much better than what i'm currently using, are latest say Tiagra brakes?

    lots.
  • I replaced the brakes on two bikes of mine recently with some Shimano dual pivot ones (low spec ones, I cannot remember the name) and they are much better. I was always infuriated with the single pivots as they seemed to rub constantly on one side but the dual are a piece of cake to set up. More powerful too.
