I know I asked about the "Planet X Ultralight CNC brake callipers" but Ive been doing some searching and found other calipers in the same field, and would like peoples opinion who might have them or used them.
Bontrager speed Limit XXX Calipers.
TRP R960 Calipers.
I really do like the TRP R960 because mainly they are Dual Pivot brakes but extremely light.

I've got some 960's. So far I'm very impressed. They are super light & look fantastic ( mine are black). Performance wise I can't knock them either. I put them on a month or so ago & have used them on a weeks training in Mallorca. We were in the mountains most days & on the decents I had every confidence with them.
The only fly in the ointment ( not really the brakes themselves) are the pads, Swisstop blacks. Great in the dry & they will haul you up in the wet but they wear unbelievably quickly when used in the wet. To the point were I bought some new pads out there, just in case...it stayed dry for the remainder of the week so I didn't need 'em, but it's something to be aware of.
I shopped around & bought from Chain Reaction. I looked into getting from the States but when taxes/duty were added & postage it was no cheaper.0 -
I've got the TRPs aswell. They have been very impressive to date, but not tried them in the wet yet. They are as good, or better than, the record calipers on my other bike. I wasn't too sure about the looks at first, but they look very nice once on the bike.0

I got the £50 planet x ones at 225 grams they are light and stop great, half the price of the 205 gram breaks, 20g heavier but work just as well.0

I do like the Planet X ones but there only single pivot brakes, so I guess stopping power is not the same as Dual Pivot brakes.
And reading some reviews on here it seems the CNC ones can be a pain to fit. And for 35g more I prefer to have dual than single..... I want something which is going to stop me
As for the brake pads I would replace them with my Swissstop Green Pads.0
