front derailleur rubbing chain

When riding in the smallest gear on the chainring and the smallest cog in the back my chain seems a little stretched as it is opposing gears and I get an intermittent rubbing noise from the front derailleur. I tried adjusting this a bit but just ended up making the chain fly off when changing gears.

I'm using a SRAM rival set up ;
Chainring - SRAM S350 compact 50x34T
Cassette - Shimano CS-5600 12-25T

Is this normal or should I keep adjusting ? its fine on the next gear down. advice much appreciated for a newbie :oops:

    Tbh its a combination of gears you shouldn't really use (or the large chainring on the large sprocket) - especially if you are running a triple chainset.

    Have a read of http://sheldonbrown.com/gearing/index.html and look at 'trimming' for a good introduction to gears. Hope this helps.

    I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.
