Is it snowy down in Wales? I cant find much recent info, and Beics Brenin had gone home when I tried calling a few minutes ago.
Supposed to be coming down from Scotland, but currently waiting for my car to be fixed. And now I'd heard that Llandegla is pretty much unrideable with snow. Would be very dissapointing to make the 6 hour drive and then find its too snowy, so any really up to date info on Penmachno, Coed-Y-Brenin, and/or Marin trails would be much appreciated.
(Flippin snow - Glentress has not long cleared out up the top bits and now its back again, Grrr - my shiny new bike needs to get out!).

I went about 6 weeks ago when it had been peeing down all week but was nice on the day I rode and it drained really well

There was still snow in parts but nothing that stopped the fun

There's that bit after the long traverse that always stays wet but other than that it was great

Depending on weather, I'm going to Pen, Lee Quarry, Staveley or Ambleside tomorrow

Looking on metoffice in the morning and making my choice then!

Ta. I reckon going to try the bike shop again tomorrow morning to see if this last dump of snow reached coed-y or not.
At least we got to kirroughtree a couple of weeks ago, apparently that's all buried again since yesterday.

We're on holiday for the week.. there was a reasonable amount of snow yesterday with a few inches laying on higher ground.

We did the Marin trail today and there was snow on a lot of the fire roads and some of the singletracks that aren't sheltered by the trees. The rest was fine (if a little damp due to melt water!) and it seemed to be melting fairly quickly - the temperatures for the next couple of days seem fine so I don't think it'll hang around for too long.

We did Penmachno on Monday and that was fine, but that was before the rain / sleet / snow..

Off to Coed y Brenin tomorrow to try the Dragon's Back.. I think that's lower so hopefully the snow shouldn't be a problem...

Penmachno was clear of snow last weekend and I doubt this weeks weather would cause an problems.

If you can fit mud guards then do so or get ready for a wet arse as it holds the puddles.

Marin will be dryer under wheels.

They drain very uickly (and are great wet weather trails) - the snow tends to just add a bit of excitement to the fireroad!
