Beginner/Intermediate Routes near Worcester

Hi,
Myself and a few colleagues are on the cusp of getting out mitts on our nice shiny new boardman hard tails in the next week or so.
We need a decent first ride out, we were thinking perhaps the malvern hills?
Can anyone suggest anywhere near Worcester? We are all frequent gym goers so quite fit so could possibly hit something intermediate from the off
any advice much appreciated!

Malverns has lots of hills but you spend most of your time dodging dogs/grannies/pushchairs.
You could head for the Cotswolds or there's a few decent hills E of Tewkesbury (Bredon Hill?).0
