Morrisons Shoppers

I get a vegetable box, eggs and a couple pints of milk delivered weekly from organic farms in the area, I get my bread from the baker and I buy my meat from my local butcher.
Because they're about third cheaper than the supermarket.0 -

It's not in Chorley mate. It's in Clayton which is a whole different world.
But seriously, I know exactly what we're getting at here. Has anybody ever been to Bolton? Not mentioning any particular shops or anything, just Bolton.
Sorry for any offence but....
Is there a height limit or something?0 -
We only have a Waitrose (good cycle racks) a Sainsburys and an M&S Simply Food where I live. How posh is that?Cannondale Supersix / CAAD9 / Boardman 9.0 / Benotto 30000

Morrisons in Blackburn is less smelly than ASDA, they drunks go to ASDA as it's just off the canal where they drink
Tesco is just shocking, it's full of nylon coated people, the static in there is quite heady!

Bolton's gone hugely downhill in the past 10 years. One of the Morrisons is smack bang in the middle of scrote alley, they sit on the benches drinking heavily and shouting abuse at each other. The store itself isn't too bad but I would prefer people didn't stand in the middle of the aisles chatting, especially the fat dumps in hot pants *shudder*.
I avoid the town centre as much as possible, but have to work in the middle of scallieville so it's a never ended stream of scum. Be glad when I can get out and move to Canada.http://www.youtube.com/user/Eurobunneh - My Youtube channel.0 -
The Morrisons in Leeds city centre (Merrion centre) must be the most hideous of all. I was once stood behind a gentleman in the checkout queue when he, without seeming to be unduly bothered by it, sh@t himself. Haven't been in a Morrisons since.0

I like Morrisons - nice fish counter compared to Tescos. That said I haven't been in a supermarket for 6 months!'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0

Bolton is good for shopping tho' Good indoor market that's ridiculously cheap compared to supermarket prices. If you want numpties might I turn your gaze to Heywood/Rochdale/Oldham and Salford. Salford Shopping City and Stretford Arndale play host to examples of 'the missing link' everyday and the pie/crisp/white bread diet can be witnessed in all it's wobbly gloryM.Rushton0

Morrisions is a terrbiel supermarket. The frut is normally past its best. The choice is very limited and not a great shopping experience.
The former MD as just left to join M&S !!!  :shock:0 -
Really? I think Morrison's is ace. I had to go to a Tesco a few weeks ago and I was reminded of how expensive they are and how poor the quality of veg/fruit/meat is. Besides, I love the fact the checkout ladies always call me darlin' or sweetheart
Apart from Waitrose, it's my fave.0 -

+1 Bolton Market is the cheapest I've been to. Last week got enough mussels for four -3 quid. A whole fresh salmon 5 quid etc etc.
I've posted this twice on BR now - is that sad?'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0 -

Disagree - better than ASDA or Tesco,'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0 -
Yes the market's very good. I go there for my scones, plus stuff for my cat and the prices are good. There's one stall that sells top brand stuff at really low prices; and the £1 shops we have are pretty decent. Started getting my tools from pound shops, even the Allen Keys last longer than some expensive ones I bought from Hellfords...Halfords.
*glances outside* I wish the weather would make it bloomin' mind up though, I wanna play out!http://www.youtube.com/user/Eurobunneh - My Youtube channel.0 -

Now I must confess. I hated Morrisons for many years for pretty much all the reasons cited in this thread. However, I also pretty much stopped eating bananas. A house move saw us living within a mile of a Morrisons and frequenting it regularly. As a result, I have rediscovered the taste of fruit that Asda and Tesco have totally modified out of their offerings. I would strongly suggest that Morrisons fruit and fresh food in general is more likely to go off quicker than other supermarkets as it is closer to the way nature makes it.
I still cannot stand the shopping environment, but don't for one second accept that any other supermarket is selling better quality fresh food.0 -
dmclite wrote:I nipped in to a Morrisons shopping establishment today as it was on the way home and we were running a bit out of time for lunch. I don't normally shop here, but the smell of B.O from a lot of the shoppers, especially at the checkouts was honking. I was just wondering if this was the norm for a lot of Morrisons shoppers or is it a geographical thing. The Morrisons in question was in Strood, Kent.
I have used the same branch of Morrisons and also found the staff and customers appeared to be a different breed, and smelly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not quite sure what exactly, but avoid the place like the plague now!Limited Edition Boardman Team Carbon No. 448
