Following the huge success of our sponsored bike ride in 2009, Doctors of the World UK (Médecins du Monde) is calling for more adventurous cyclists to sign up for the fifth London to Paris Bike Ride 2010.

This incredible three-day challenge covers almost 190 miles of stunningly colourful countryside and reaches Paris in time to see the professionals peddle up the Champs Elysées.
Riders from the UK will be joined by a team from the French HQ bringing an international flavour to the event.

The team leaves London on Thursday 22 July, arriving at the Eiffel Tower in Paris by late afternoon on Saturday 24 July. Cyclists can rest their tired legs on Sunday 25 July, sightsee or watch the final stages of the Tour de France at the Champs Elysées returning home by Eurostar.

The funds raised will be used to provide medical care to vulnerable people through our projects around the world who are touched by natural disasters like the recent earthquake in Haiti, conflict, like our ongoing emergency mission in Iraq, or extreme poverty like our HIV/AIDS prevention project in Myanmar (Burma). As well as helping those further afield, Doctors of the World also runs projects in developed countries, including here in London, where our volunteer led Project:London clinic helps marginalised people who cannot access mainstream healthcare services.

Participants pay a £99 Registration Fee, then pledge to raise £1,100 in sponsorship funds which covers all the trip costs.
