    erm, use a brush, although if it works then it could revolutionise cycling for ever, ( just dont let anyone catch you)

    Ah, but I want to get it proper spanky clean like new before I install it on my new MAvic Aksiums (when I get the spacer that didn't come with them).

    Might slip it in under a saucepan so the missus don't spot it, if she does I'll tell her it's a new sort of fruit juicer.

    bathe it in some degreaser for a few hours or overnight (i like fenwicks myself). Then next day blast it with a hose the wipe with a rag sprayed with with some GT85 or WD40 all over and between the cogs.

    Simples.

    Did this when i put my new wheels on. Looked like new until i got a mile into my 1st ride on a wet road...
