Constantly trying to upgrade my parts. It is a long road ahead as things are so expensive for little gain. n+1 is always the principle in my mind.

Haha yes it is a bit of an eyesore. I'm not too inclined to change the seatpost as the one i'm running with is pretty light in comparison with a Thomson & does the job well. Black does look better than the ball burnish/silver seat post though.
How much would i save in weight by changing to an SLX crank? Is performance that much less than an XT?Constantly trying to upgrade my parts. It is a long road ahead as things are so expensive for little gain. n+1 is always the principle in my mind.0 -
There's not too much in it as far as I can remember, my mate has SLX and I've got the XT, the quality of the SLX is very good and it's a fair bit cheaper too0

it only has one disc0

Yes it only has one disc. It is not a mistake at all! The frame was not designed to run discs on the rear. It only has V-brake bosses.
I have put a disc on the front and run V's on the back. I find the V's to be ok but wqhen the rear wheel goes through wet mud then braking isn't the best with the V. In the dry though it is great & has the bonus of being light too.Constantly trying to upgrade my parts. It is a long road ahead as things are so expensive for little gain. n+1 is always the principle in my mind.0 -
get some magura HS33's with the EVO adaptor so you can run them on the v-bosses for some more rear brake ooomph, apart from that, its a really, really nice ride...I like bikes and stuff0

Thanks very much
It does ride well and i am happy with it. Although i am after a disc compatible frame as for some reason i am drawn to a rear disc. Looking for a Kula, Giant XTC or Stumpy frame & transfer all my parts over.
Maybe it is a thing of wishing for what i don't have (like a rear disc).Constantly trying to upgrade my parts. It is a long road ahead as things are so expensive for little gain. n+1 is always the principle in my mind.0
