some one has told me, that if i might of got some oil on my pads over bleeding the brakes, i should put them in the oven before letting them get into contact with my rotors. i was wondering, what sort of temperatures are we talking?

Also shed any light on Nuke Proofs pads?

Tom

    Replace them.

and clean the rotor with bike disc cleaner/meths/IPA.

keep the old pads to use for any future bleeds.

I'd have a crack at cleaning them myself. Never tried the oven trick, I'd just nuke 'em with isopropyl alcohol and a scotchbrite pad.

I think the Nukeproof pads are much like so much of their other stuff, cheap far eastern stuff with a pretty logo on at a premium price. Best example being their forks...

For something that can save your ass/neck, its not a massive outlay to replace them! I don't think its worth the hassle of bodging them!

it's not really a bodge though, because once you clean them you test them and they either work or they don't. No risk involved.

Gas Mark 5 with a pinch of crushed garlic, finish off with some Worcester Sauce and on a bed of Pilau Rice.

i prefer to marinate them gently in minestrone soup- find it improves modulation
