Santa Cruz Bullit - shock size query

Hello,
I've got a Santa Cruz Bullit frame (2009 model) and i'm planning to put on a DHX 5.0 Air (it's going on a diet for the summer!).
I've checked SC's website and it would appear that I need an 8.5" x 2.5" shock, however I've just spotted that the fox spring currently on the bike is a 2.8" - so now i'm getting the jitters before I click the "buy" button on a shiny new air shock.
Are there any Bullit owners out there who have swapped shocks, and if so, what size did you need?
Many thanks

fox springs do say funny things.
time to get the rule out and do some measuring."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Spring on my Fox DHX 3 also says 2.80.
Relax and click that buy button yoohoo. The size on SCs website is correct. When I got the DHX 5 Air in that size it matched the DHX 3 exactly eye to eye when placed side by side.

Q: What size shock does the Bullit use?
A: 8.5" x 2.5" (216x 63mm)
The mounting hardware is 22mm wide with an 8mm through hole.
FYI: Cane Creek make the Double Barrel in 215 x 63mm (8.5" x 2.5") which is just fantastic.
Before you ditch your current shock, how heavy are you and what shock and spring do you have ?

The spring may compress 2.8 inches... the shock damper may not!
So as above, 2.5 shock displacement is right.0
