    105 apart from weight.

    Ultegra is better than rival.

    I disagree...

    Rival is of a similar level of shifting quality to Ultegra in my experience but is cheaper and lighter!

    105 but then again I would still stick with shimano because I have found that by Sram dropping the weight has reduced the quality.

    I would say is better than 105 by a country mile. More like Ultegra than 105 but I haven't tried Ultegra :s

    Even magazine testers say Rival is on a par with Ultegra.

    105?

    I use Sram Rival, 105 and Ultegra on 3 bikes.

    The 105 is good reliable stuff, shifts solidly and good build quailty but it's heavy, slowish and the front mech is not great.

    Ultegra-light and shifts great.

    Rival-I've been using this 2 months and love it, light and shifts perfectly and up there with Ultegra-give or take it will be a personal choice between these 2. Although the carbon fibre is nice.

    Even though Sram had 3 gps it did not match the order of shimano's top 3 groups of DA, Ult and 105.

    To counter this Sram have come out with a cheaper gp just released set to fight off 105. Doubt they will make a cheaper set for Tiagra as Sram as so well priced.

    (We need Sram and Shiamno fighting so we get the better products)
    I would have nosed up at Sram but I am so impressed by their quality. I won't take sides as long as I have both but the Sram has really suprised me with quality.

    From what I have read,

    Rival = Ultegra
    Force = DA
    Red = Class of its own.

    I think the original pricing of the groups added up much this way as well

    Plus the SRAM stuff is lighter, but I must admit, I kind of prefer the feel of the levers on my 105 STI over my Rival, more substantial.

    I may howver be wrong.
