how should a correct fitting helmet fit?

i tried a couple on in halfrauds but they all feel strange.

the most comfy one had a gap between my head and the helmet when i tightened up the adjustable bits. is this correct fitment?

cheers

Ask the shop assistant to help - they should be able to give advice.

Basically your skull should touch the pads on the inside - it shouldn't be too small as to perch on top, or too big as to flap around with gaps at the side.

    You can add pads.

    But keep trying them on.

as a rule I put the helmet on and make it 'snug'.

Don't do the strap up and lean forwards putting your head between your knees i.e. you're upside down. If the helmet stays on good; if not then it is too big! either get a smaller size or adjust it.

If it stays on I keep loosening it until it falls off then do it up a couple of notches again to tighten it
