Evening All,
Can anyone help?
I have a Ragley Blue Pig, Black which is a brilliant frame apart from the seat tube.
The problem is I would have to tighten the the seat clamp really tight or the seat post slides down also when i need the seat post to go down it goes down about 100mm then it seems to get stuck then i would need to force it down, then force it up by turning the seat left to right pulling up and then my new seat post would be scratched to hell.
Does anyone haave the same problem with this?
I've sent the frame back to CRC and got a new one with the same problem.
all thoughts welcome.
Cheers
Daz

what clamp is it?
and it sounds like the tube need a clean out/ream."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I'm sure I've heard of this on singletrack, brant posted a response there. But their search engine is ****ed so I can't find it. I'd say contact Ragley but it couldn't hurt to fire a post over there too.Uncompromising extremist0

there is a chap that got his form the lbs who had the same problem witht he seat clamp, had to crank it up so tight to stop it slipping that it broke the ragley clamp,
ragley have replaced it (the clamp) but he said it'll make no difference,
interesting to see that its not the only one with the same issue!!Timmo.

My first initial idea was send an e-mail to Ragley, which he then got me in contact with the mechanics at CRC,
I was instructed to send the frame back and they would check it out.
I believe they reamed the seat tube out, but then I mentioned the seat post was sliding down, and i would have to tighten the Ragley seat clamp realy tight to keep it in place but then wouldnt be able to pull the lever.
So they sent me a new frame, which does the same thing, Ive looked into the seat tube and seen small fillings inside, so I think they reamed the tube.
I'm thinking that:
1, The Ragley seat collar is rubbish and try another.
2, Get a 26mm tube wrap it in emery paper and f**k the hell out of the seat tube.0 -
dazultra59 it sounds like although the seat tube is reamed so the post will move freely there is an issue with the seat tube if you have to clamp the collar up loads.
I hate to say this but it looks like we need to get this frame back off you as well, sounds like you've been very unlucky as we don't really have problems with any of the Ragley products.
You can return it as you did in the first place and mention in the returns form to speak to Andy before issuing a new frame.
