It's normal. I like to think of them as battle scars - then you can be proud of them0

Comes with the sport I am afraid Its New Car Syndrome. You just cant avoid chips and scratches in paint work. You can mask the little scratches by using a good quality colour match wax by the likes of Turtle Wax but that way leads to insanity.
Even powder coated and Anodised frames end up covered in scratches and chips
.
Just ignore them and eventually the scratches will disappear amongst all the other scratches your going to pick up.Fig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0 -

I get infuriated by non-riding damage... Bike falls over in garage or gets loaded badly into a car, frinstance. But proper riding damage is fine, bikes are tools not ornaments right?Uncompromising extremist0

I thought people used helicopter tape.0

+1 for helicopter tape.
Has saved loads of scratches on the downtube of my bike. I often cycle along a track made of loose gravel chips and my bike would look like it had been sandblasted by now without the tape.My Website - Trail Centre info for the UK: MTB Trail Time0
