I just stripped the thread on the high position screw on my XTR front derailleur and nearly on the low positon as well. The metal feels so soft, it completely stripped in a single rotation.

Is it possible to replace these screws?

Yes. Just a case of matching up at a hardware store, or contacting Madison or a SHimano Service Centre.

Stripping the threads on the two screws is something that really never gets heard of, screwing up the heads yes but if you have stripped the threads then there must be a reason for it, i.e....is the mech seized meaning you have to put more pressure on the screws to turn them than normal, or are the screws crossthreaded, i don't know if these screws are readily available, it's not something you normally come across, i would say a trip to your local b/shop would be in order, if no luck then you can try and find another knackered derealiur from someone with good screws in it.

I had to replace my xtr rear mech recently because the thread went on the 'b'tension screw bracket but not on the screw.

For the price of a new mech, although xtr's aren't cheap the hassle involved if you can't find any screws you may have to buy a new mech.

I don't know where you live but i still have my old rear mech, if want i could send you the screws.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks if I can't replace them I may take you up on that :)

There was a thread about a guy going to his local hardware shop and replacing every screw on his bike for allen key bolts. I'm going to see if I can do that too :)

    That's not a bad idea
