Mavic Cosmic Carbone timeline (+ aero section wheels)

I'm thinking of buying a pair of these, and budget dictates they'll be 'pre-owned'. So question is, how much have they changed over the years - weight, construction, spoking etc - and equally importantly, how do I tell the different generations apart?

Secondly, are there any alternatives? Deep section, alloy or carbon, that are aero, light and inexpensive!! (yes, I know the adage - 'pick two' )

Thirdly, anyone got a pair they are willing to part sell?

I have last year's and they're skill

My mate had some of the older ones with bigger, yellow graphics. They were skill. He had them 2 years and sold them for what he bought them for 2nd>3rd hand.

they're open pro rims with a body kit...

...they are great fun. and they'll give you some extra training up hills

on the flat, wind them up and intimidate your clubmates as you zip past them making a pleasant rumbling noise.

oh and if it's wet they fill with water!

still skill though....
