Dear fellow cyclists

Can you spare two minutes to help a unique cycling challenge in aid of the disaster relief charity ShelterBox?

Starting in August, my wife and I will be riding 10,000 miles across North America, New Zealand, Australia and Europe on our tandem - giving talks in hundreds of communities along the way and hopefully raising £100,000.

Our trip has been shortlisted for a major award but the final is judged purely on public votes, so we need to get as many people as possible to vote for us - and voting ends on March 29th!

To read more about what we're doing and why, see our blog at http://tandem10.wordpress.com/2010/03/16/help-vote-now/ - there's a link to BA's Great Britons site and details on how to vote. (It's also really easy to vote via Facebook.)

That's it. No catch, no money involved. We think ShelterBox is a fantastic organisation - they've delivered emergency aid for tens of thousands of people in Haiti alone. We're hoping to raise £100,000 for them through this challenge.

I'd be really grateful for your vote - and if you support our endeavour, please pass this message on to friends, family, fellow cyclists, neighbours, colleagues... Every vote counts!

Many thanks, Huw Thomas
