At the back end of last year i bought a ridgeback 'horizon' from my LBS as a general works-training-winter bike but i'm tempted to swap it for a Dolan 'Preffisio' as i slight upgrade. I can't find any details on weight for each bike but mr Dolan is renowned for his frames. Does anybody else feel i'm wasting my time as well as my wife!

The Dolan Preffisio would be more of a sideways move than an upgrade. Better to save your pennies for the Dolan Mythos or Hercules, if you're particularly looking for a Dolan. :D

Skyd0g beat me to it. Surely you need to buy a better bike all round, or upgrade the one you have?

I hate to admit it, but your wife might be right!

I have a Horizon as a winter bike - as above I suspect the Dolan will be a sideways move, rather than an upgrade and I don't believe Dolan actually builds those frames anyway.

The Horizon frame is only 6061 compared to 7075 (not that it makes any real difference), but its not a bad handler - especially for the winter.

Yes, I,ve spoken to my LBS and they say the same. If I want to improve the ridgeback maybe upgrade the wheels to a set of shimanos or zero kites
