bib shorts - just how tricky are comfort breaks?

I understand the advantages of bib shorts. I can see that they would stay in the right position longer and better than standard shorts. What are the drawbacks?

+1, pull the front down, pop your old fellah out and have a wee, what do you want some eleborate system involving pumps and rubber tubing  ?
  • Roll your shoulders can make it easier. Not that I have to, mines big enough to go around anyway.

If the bib part comes up fairly high it will have a zip. Some bib shorts don't actually come up that high anyway so its not a problem.

I vastly prefer bib shorts personally.

Some of us are female :P Haven't tried bib shorts yet, but I doubt it's that easy for us.

Agreed - but it's best to stop the bike first... :)

You can also pull up a leg and pop your wanger out that way. You don't have to do quite as much of an old man stoop if you do. (You have to be careful not shower your leg though. :) )

Some makes have a low cut front. I have DeMarchi and Giessegi bibs which are like this, and it makes life easier (and less messy). Might be something to consider.

    I love that.

How hygienic can it be having to carry around a piece of plastic covered in pee? At least you know it's your own pee, I suppose.

Neither my shorts, or me are built in the right way to do that! Best way is not to drink caffeine before or during a ride.
