I'm interested in getting a pair of Castelli bib shorts for summer along with a new jersey.
I'm planning on getting the castelli prologo jersey as it's plain but stylish however I'm not sure which bib shorts to buy. I've thought about the Dome or Velicissimo ones but not sure which would be best for up to 6 hour rides. Any recommendations from those that have used used them?
Also the only Castelli clothing I've tried on are Gregario Bib Longs and was a Large in those so would I be the same size in the shorts?
Don't want team ones such as Cervelo as they wouldn't look right with the jersey. And yes I would love the new body paint ones but no way I can stretch to £155 :(

I've got 4 pairs of Dome Due shorts and think thay are excellent, better than my one pair of Assos in my opinion.

The cervelo test team shorts with the black/red prologo jersey look fantastic together, unfortunately the shorts are a bit cack though :(

Dome Due may well be better though.

    Cheers all for the comments:

Coach H, how do you find the size as some of their race stuff is closer fitting than their other stuff and I've got sprinters sized legs and not hill climbers?

Chris, can you explain a bit better than "a bit cack"! Is it fit, quality, wear and tear?

nicensleazy, I think you better read the last sentence of my post mate  They look fab but I can't spend that much and the credit card balance is already too high

Sure, the (Kiss) pad is IME a bit coarse and uncomfortable - could do with a touch more padding and a smoother top layer. The lycra round the seams on mine also started catching and roughing up within just a few rides. They didn't feel like a short as expensive as they are. They look ace though.

I'm 6' and 15 stone and wear XXL shorts, generally one size up from what you would expect (although I have XXXL in 2 pairs of winter tights). Its the tops that are really daft sizing XXXL stops me breathing!

Unlike chriskempton I really like the KISS pad.

I have a pair of each and would plump for the Velicissimo as I find the lycra is better more fitting.
