Looking at getting a pair, just wondered if there worth the £13 for what is in reality just a set of bar end plugs?

Any alternatives?

Cheers

I run a set on my Marin.

Sure they do the same job as a £2 platic pair but they are Hope = lovely to look at, can colour coordinate, and brilliantly machined. I guess thats what you're paying for.

They should last a lifteime too, so £13 isn't that much of an outlay really is it?

Yep, the colour co-ordination aspect is the main reason as a nice red set will go well with my peaty lock ons... Also like you say they look a hell of a lot nicer than a cheapo plastic set :)

How does the colour on them wear?

    Cheers

Like any anodised product, they will be prone to scatches (when you lean the bike against something you will obviously get some paint loss)

However, I finf Hopes kit lasts a hell of a lot longer than most ;)

No they aren't worth £13 but it didn't stop me buying a pair!

One thing I have learned reading these forums is that you can't really blame the manufacturers for their shockingly overpriced bike components

On the one hand they're laughably overpriced, but on the other if you like their looks £13 isn't a lot of money for most of us. So yeah, it makes no sense at all to buy them but it's not that big a deal either way. It's not like it's a Hope stem or something

i've had mine on the bike for nearly 5 years.look great.i'd sooner pay £13 for hope than £1 for a pair of superstar made in taiwan ones.
