Quick question for Ribble Sportive owners - dimple in frame

I have noticed a strange "dimple" in the seatpost of my wife's new Ribble Sportive frame. It is 1 /2 inches long, 1/2 an inch wide and about 4 inches above the bottom bracket, at the 4 o clock position if the headset is 12 o-clock. I was just wondering if this was supposed to be there?

At first I thought it was to do with mounting the front mech but it looks too low down.

It's probably for mech clearance like you say, I have a similar thing on my Nero Corsa.

Don't panic!! I have a sportive frame and can confirm it is indeed for mech clearance and is the same on mine too!
