Anything else worth considering, apart from SRAM?

When I buy a 10 speed chain I look for the best price and then, it's mine. I like the ones with master links. Have bought Shimano, Campy, Sram, Wipperman, etc., etc. and never noticed ANY difference of any kind. Then again I'm old and don't notice everything anymore. Either that or there is no real difference in chains. I have noticed that, lately,
I've been noticing that there aren't any real differences in bike components other than brand. I'm starting to think that everything is the same. Anyone else noticed that?????
Sorry, but I ramble on.0 -

Yes a lot of gear seems to be generic metals and composites made in the Far East with differing brand labels. Are there not a handful of chain manufacturers who supply the whole market for all the big brands like KMC, Shimano, Campag etc?Colnago C60 SRAM eTap, Colnago C40, Milani 107E, BMC Pro Machine, Trek Madone, Viner Gladius,

No arguement, there, Dennis
I understand your sentiment, yet, IMHO, there are big differences between the lower priced and higher priced stuff.
When comparing the high end kit, it is difficult to choose one significant leader.
Personally, I like blingy kit, and can't decide between silver, or gold...Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -
if you are a weenie then the (silver) SL is my advice, otherwise a standard X10Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0

Ti Nitride coated slick shifting heaven. Now you want one.0

IME the ti-nitride is smoother, lasts longer and is more corrosion resistant - worth having in comparison to the silver.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

You'll spend all your time explaining to people it's not rusted if you get the gold.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)
