Another cold winter to come?

Thinking about the latest Icelandic volcano eruption, added to the effects of the eruption in Chile last year, and if solar activity continues at it's current low level, I wonder if we're not due another 'proper' winter later this year?

this gets better! I can't beleive the lyrics - heee-f**ing-larious!

Spring was never waiting for us, girl
    It ran one step ahead
As we followed in the dance
Between the parted pages and were pressed,
    In love's hot, fevered iron
Like a striped pair of pants

    [Chorus]
MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down...
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
    Oh, no!

I recall the yellow cotton dress
    Foaming like a wave
On the ground around your knees
The birds, like tender babies in your hands
And the old men playing checkers by the trees

    [Chorus]

There will be another song for me
    For I will sing it
There will be another dream for me
    Someone will bring it
I will drink the wine while it is warm
And never let you catch me looking at the sun
And after all the loves of my life
After all the loves of my life
    You'll still be the one.

I will take my life into my hands and I will use it
I will win the worship in their eyes and I will lose it
I will have the things that I desire
And my passion flow like rivers through the sky.
And after all the loves of my life
After all the loves of my life
    I'll be thinking of you
    And wondering why.

MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down...
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
    Oh, no!
    Oh, no
    No, no
    Oh NO!!

Oh come on Wirralguy, this was looking set to be the most spectacularly OT thread of the year until you put it back on track!

But I've got to say, I'm afraid I think it's a bit unlikely but a little ice age would be cool  , I've loved the skiing this winter (<1 hour's drive from here! love it) as well as day after day of snow-covered landscape around my home. Shame about how much, or otherwise, I managed to get out on the roads this winter - but a lot of that wasn't just the state of the roads, there were only a few days when all the roads were actually uncycleable.

If we do I'm going to buy a cyclocross bike for the snow!

I recall some other weather forecasters recently boast about how their predictions for the last few years were correct and the metoffice were rubbish, they also said that we will have a lovely Summer this Year. Just cant remember who the hell it was

Make your bloody mind up! Only 2 threads away you're waxing lyrical about censored Monday (beautifully written by the way). Now you're trying to depress us again with rumours of another beastly winter. :(
  • CressersCressers Posts: 1,329
It wasn't me who wrote censored Monday, that is just a flick-on from a football site that none of you should know about, and if you could trace it than some of The Boys would want words with you...

As for winter, I still think it'll be colder than the ones we've become used to. We may well have a short, sharp spring and summerlet beforehand.
