DT Swiss Wheels - any experience?

Considering a pair of these:

I believe they had some "issues" early on, about 2 years ago, but have since rectified the production problems with the rims, now made by Reynolds I gather.

Does anyone here have any good or bad experience with these?

They sure look nice, but is that their only good point???

No direct experience of using the wheel but I did do some research on them.

The RRC 1250 is made with basically the 190 hub and a DT Swiss rim (not Reynolds). It is the new generation of RRC wheels that have the Reynolds rim. The equivalent to the RRC 1250 in the new wheels would be to combine the the RRC 570f (front wheel) and RRC 680R (rear wheel) which are sold separately but have a combined weight of 1250g and are both shallow rims. Price on the RRC 570 + 680 is I think marginallly cheaper than a set of the RRC 1250.

There are other wheels in the new RRC series with deeper section rims depending on preference, which enables you to mix and match depth of rim required to personal taste.

They are very expensive.....look good though.
think the Tune Schwarzbrenner wheels look nicer and are much cheaper.
The 42mm ones tested in this months CP at £1660 a pair at 1348g means only 98g heavier than the DT wheels.....but you can virtually redeem that with some lightweight ti skewers and tyre choice.

I've been using the Mon Chssarel 1450 for the past 2 years without any problems. Still straight and bearing are running as smooth as the day i bought them.

@ Daimler... that's the first time ever someone has described Tune products as "cheaper"...

Unfortunately, they are damned hard to get here (Australia), although there are a couple of places that can order them in. I worry about things like warranty service for things like that here though. At least the DT folks are well represented generally for hubs, spokes and parts...

They are crazy money! I'd built on some Lew rims or something for that money!

The Mon Chasserals are overpriced too (sorry Gazza), they're just 240s on RR1.1 rims, but they're far more expensive than the component parts!

Don't worry I only paid £350 for them. Now something like £594 I think.
