I was really looking forward to this. Disappointing though. One hour for Alaska, Canada and the US? Far too fast. It should have been a 6-parter!
Having said that, it had it's moments. The yank praying for Mark was totally unexpected and Mark's face was a picture.
Great scenery, but not enough. Some of it might as well have been snapshots for all the time they lingered on it.
Hope the next 2 episodes are better.

I thought it was a good watch, they could have stretched it out but it might have started to beccome too focused on a cycling audience as aposed to your average joe watching it for entertainment.0

Seems there's an accompanying series on BBC Radio Scotland: Marks Diary, Episode 1 (of 3)
It's all about Denali:BBC wrote:With snow, wind, ice and altitude all taking their toll, the certainty of Mark Beaumont reaching the summit of Denali, North America's highest peak, was far from assured.A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject - Churchill0 -

The 2hr show flew by and was very insparational and entertaining if you have not bin yet it's definatley worth a visit at only £12 on the door it's a fairly cheap night out.If I only scrape a livin, at least it's living worth sraping for0

I watched the first episode on catch up this morning. i noticed that in some clips his cranks were on the left side then on the righte side of his bike :? Why do film makers do this, is it for scenery continuity or something ?0

They sometimes need to flip the shot so that they keep riding from the same side of the screen to the other.
It's a mental thing. Otherwise, people go "why's he going back?"0 -

To help film makers following me I've developed a new transmission system with cranks on both sides of the bike.0
