Hello

Will be doing a ride this weekend in the peak district. I have only been once and done the Edale route inc Jacobs ladder also known as Rushop and Royce.

I was thinking of doing the ladybower route.

Does anyone know if this route is as good as the edale route and what conditions are like

That's a variation on the classic Ladybower route and is well worth doing. There's one bit on that route that's a no-no and that's the Little out-and-back to the summit of Win Hill.Apart from it being a FP,on weekends you'll be dodging 100s of walkers. The rest of the route is fine.
Expect it to be a bit damp but it's drying out all the time.

Would you recommend clockwise or anti clockwise

As an after thought. Would Cut Gate be a better ride

Cut gate is a fantastic route, prob one of my fav's in the Peaks, but I reckon it may still be boggy, never seen it not be! Hopefully a local, ie. Ibbo will be along to tell me otherwise :)

If you have not ridden the Ladybower route I would highly recommend it though. Was one of the first Peaks routes I rode, and still one of the best.

    Ladybower it is then.

    Clockwise or anticlockwise ?

We always do the route clockwise.Easier climbs and faster descents.

Cutgate should be drying out a bit now but it usually need a few weeks of dry windy weather to dry out fully.
