Helmets - Road/MTB Hybrids

Hello out there.
I do a fair bit of road riding, a little XT and commute but don't really fancy buying two helmets.
Would a road helmet still be suitable for some over the hills and far away with a bit of DH thrown in or should I really consider a separate helmet?
Any advise would be appreciated as everything seems to be ride specific.
Many thanks

If you mean proper DH then only a proper full face will do0

You could get a MET Parachute. My mates got one and the removable jaw protector works pretty well.0

That would be good unless the DH he is talking about is proper DH in which case that MET wouldn't do to much to protect him against a tree at 40mph0 -

If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -
I wouldn't call it proper DH but have certainly hit some scary speeds on some single track. Most of my offroad activities are XC but I live by the south downs so plenty of hills.
I don't think I need full face protection and wouldn't really fancy road riding with that much helmet. I suppose I'm just after something that is going to be lightweight enough to not overheat in on the roads but with enough protection to stop me getting my head cracked by a rock or root.
Any ideas? Cheers guys0 -
The MET parachute should be fine then.
Ideally you would have 2 helmets.
I have a pispot for road and XC and a 661 Evo for AM/DHish/FR0
