Which bell?

Hi all. Was out over the weekend and had to back off several times on the cycle path for pedestrians, which was very frustrating. Was wondering if anyone could recommend a very small bell to warn members of the public that there's a bike approaching....

Airzound!I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

Or buy some Hope hubs, much louder than any bell.
One of these would wake them up http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=269970 -
This hub may be for a MTB, but I bet they have one for a roadie as well:

Just looking for something discrete but loud enough to politely warn pedestrians and other cyclists. Has to be small - don't want something massive mounted on the bars0

Tesco Value bell at 99p is one of the smallest and discrete ones I could find and clips on and off without any need for tools.

Anything loud enough for people to hear isn't going to sound very polite, so may as well shout or whistle rather than spoil the look of your bike with a bell.Pinno, מלך אידיוט וחרא מכונאי0

I used to have an airzound when i commuted. it would scare the cr*p out of people. seriously though, if you are going like the clappers or its windy, a bell is a waste of time as it wont be heard.Burning Fat Not Rubber

Fair enough. Just wanted to scan around for suggestions. Think the general opinion is not to clutter the bars. Just wondered if this was the solution.
So what do you tend to do if your cycling and you approach pedestrians/slower rider?0 -

Just lock up your back wheel, the noise of a skid normally works.0

Avoid all the clever people posted so far.
On my commute bike I have a bell as it is nice to be able to warn peds of your approach when on shared paths. For that purpose forget about any bells that just ping, and horns that blare aggression. Neither will achieve what you want. Go to the local bike shop, halfords or Wilkinsons or similar and get an old-fashoined bell with the thumb lever and whirly insides. These are resonably loud, not aggressive and people immediatley know you are a cyclist. I've rung my bell a good way back from pedestrians and had them thank me for letting them know I was coming. It really is an essential bit of kit for a bike used on shared paths. I'd never put it on my Time Trial bike though!
I got mine rom Evans for about £1, but can't see it on their website (maybe it is not cool enough...)
it is lik ethis one though:
