Just bought myself some new Bontrager XXX Lite Carbon Handlebars and not sure which bar tape to put on them, at the moment I have Bontrager Cork Tape on my old bars and was thinking about putting that onto the new bars.... What do you guys think, Bonty or Fizik? And the tape has to be black

I've got Bontrager cork on my winter bike and Fizik Microtex on my new bike. The Bonty is comfier (I have gel underneath both), but the Fizik seems easier to keep clean (both being white).0

+1 for Fizik. Just swapped over to it this afternoon and very happy with it to, just warm it up though before fitting as it makes the job easier.Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?

+2 Fizik. Easy to apply and keeps its looks really well. Not the comfiest, but as mentioned above you can fit the gel pads0

Kind of depends on what you want. If you like cork then I can assure you that you won't
find much difference in brands. I mean cork is cork, to be honest. Different colors but other than that it's cork.0 -
If it's black, then keeping it clean doesn't matter.
Bonty is much comfier.
I use white tape - so the Fizik is much better as it never seems to get dirty. Before that I always had the Bonty tape as it's quite comfy.0 -
I always use two layers. Can never understand why people with bigger hands than mine (most people) ride with one layer of tape. Makes for very skinny grips. Comfort is therefore guaranteed. I put some of the two tone stripy Fizik over the top of the original rather well worn in tape on my Condor and it's now very comfy and looks much improved.Summer - Cannondale Six Ultegra
Winter - Condor Bivio - cyclocross bike for commuting, cycle paths & rainy days - brilliant
LBS - Sigma Sport in Hampton Wick - Simply the best LBS
Stolen - 2001 Specialized Allez Elite :-(0
