..and pedals...

Been having issues with the canti levers and getting a pannier bag on the rack, the lever and bag seem to rub and I dont want the bag developing a hole.

So.. brakes. As its a Kona Jake proper road brakes are out. :( I would have put in some tiagra's, but I think I'll have to install V Brakes. The ones that tempt me are the Deore. Anyone have any experience of them, are they good, strong and effective. My old Vs on the hybrid werent that great and needed constant adjusting once a month or so, and would like to avoid this if I can.

Next up, the FSA bottom bracket has run his life. Dont particularly like this bracket, it now feels a little rough - having Hope hubs I'm thinking Hope road ceramic or steel bracket. Its twice the price, but is it twice as nice?

Lastly I might need new pedals. Must be normal flats due to needing to use regular shoes. Or can the bearings be changed in old pedals?

I suppose my budget is 50 for brakes, 100 for the bracket and up to 60 for pedals, though will adjust if something is worth it. I deas would be appreciated :D
