Cycling Club - Ressurection

Back in the 90s I went along with Bolton Mountain Bikes cycle group a few times and whilst some peeps were awesome, I found the vast majority just buggered off and left anyone who wasn't doing 40mph uphill. I decided to change that and start my own club at the tender age of 19.
Sending an advert off to MTB UK I was soon getting regular calls from people, whom like me, weren't MEGAFIT. Soon we grew, not massively but we had a solid contingent of peeps on a Sunday morning plus we also went out at nights during the week for town centre blasts. We had a great time and it wasn't long until we develped a name; Mudslingers.
I will never forget the time when 20 people turned out for a ride on Sunday and we swarmed over Rivington. A guy with us said to me 'bet when you placed your ad you never expected this many' and I didn't. It was a big success!
I have done some thinking and it's totally a viable option again. Not only can I build the club a website I can easily throw up a php board and use plugins to import Google Street maps. The idea would be again to have the club designed for your average cyclist, and whilst megafit peeps can come, we'd be going at a pace that's suitable for the group. It's worked before and it will work again. We used to repair each others' bikes, help out club members with bike problems and generally have a bloody good time.
Why am I telling you this? Dunno really, I just got the buzz again and felt like posting
*gets that excited feeling in his tummy*

Aye the old MTB club died. I developed health issues and couldn't run it, no one else stepped up so it fell over. Died in about 1999, shame really; although still in contact with most of the peeps.http://www.youtube.com/user/Eurobunneh - My Youtube channel.0
