IS it as bad an idea as i'm beginning to think ?

We've got it planned for this weekend and it's looking like monsoon season for the whole day.

While i don't mine a bit of whites or wall etc, that's only a few hours... Skyline is going to be an all day jobbie...

Is it a bad bad plan ?

    according to mbwales.com it's 4-7hours ?

What's a realistic time for normal fit MTBers ?

I did it on my own last year in about 5.5hrs. Didn't stop much and was very knackered at the end. The top section was in the cloud so I didn't really get the views up on the Edge. Might be a bit exposed in places if it's lashing down.
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result

we did it last year medium to poor fitness in my veiw. and we did it in about 4 hours..

I would say its a great trail but make sure you are well geared if your going in the horrible weather to be honest its not fun in the wet

should be fine trail conditions as good drainage on all the afan/glyncorrwg trails. Just make sure you're prepared with waterproofs incl. gloves, mobile, food/drink & sufficient tools - have fun!!

don't worry about it - definately do it.

I did Skyline in awful conditions last weekend - got to the point that I was so wet I couldnt possibly be any more wet anyway, and I quickly forgot how awful the conditions were.

Good weather is forecast for the Saturday anyway so should be fine. Rain on Sunday I think though.

    Have fun!
