I assume you mean SRAM Red or Dura Ace?
Tough call....and a personal choice for most.
Both are excellent.
SRAM Red is lighter and it's what I use.
I always used shimano before I changed to SRAM Red.
I think it's great.....especially when you can brake without the brake levers swinging inwards like Shimano's can.
Planet X RT-57 custom build0 -
Out of the two, I think I would got for Red.0

Which one???? Either / or
Why??? Both good stuff
Better for 1500??? Pretty much none better at any cost. Key word is BETTER.0 -
I currently use low spec Shimano but I am getting a new bike and I have specced SRAM Red. I tested Campag Record (10sp) and felt that the SRAM RED was crisper and more intuitive and also definitely, for me, easier to use on the drops.

If they did a planet x with super record then that would be in there as well... Campag is beautifull0 -
I'm thinking about buying one of these bikes in the not too distant future. I would probably prefer the SRAM Red version, but the fact that you don't appear to be able to customise it really puts me off.0

+1. Buy the Dura-Ace, flog the parts on ebay, use proceeds to buy SR from Maestro. Sorted.
