Hello all

Im emmett, 30 from N Ireland and all new to the forum, been reading lots of great advice but this is the 1st post.

Back on the bike after 14 years of being lazy and driving everywhere.

I just bought a GT Aggressor XC2 in Halfords.

What i am stuck on is this, i want a tyre for On Road/Commuting and have narrowed it down to:

Schwalbe City Jet 26 x 1.5

or

Kenda Kwest K-Shield 26 x 1.5

Can get a pair of either on Ebay for under 20 quid delivered.

Has anyone any preference on these and why?
Many Thanks... :D

just to throw a spanner in the works.....I also commute to work every day,
I went with michelin XC hard terrrain, they roll fantastic on road and you can still go off road when you need too.
    just an idea.

i shall throw a phillips screwdriver in then,
specialized crossroads armadillo elite, great on road and not bad on dry off road, puncture proof too :)

+1 for the Michelin XC Hard Terrain.

Ive been using these tyres for a while now, again mainly on the road and some light off road use. They roll nice, good grip and a comfy ride.

I have the road rash scars to say, never ever a Kenda. City Jets, Gatorskins, City Contacts, Marathon Racers all used happily by commuters of my aquaintance.

Depending on the level of off-road, I really like my schwalbe big apples.

I put these tyres on my 6" AM bike and use them to commute,

The are tough enough that I can do drops, hammer up steps and cycle the dusty graveel/mud paths without an issue.

Can't reccomend them enough, they are also awesomely fast!

I ride them offroad fine, even hard cornering on mud...
Why would I care about 150g of bike weight, I just ate 400g of cookies while reading this?

i use these road/commuting, they may look more slick than semi slick but incredibly grippy

some of the reviews on crc werent anything to go by. so if you can stretch the budget to another £20 id recommend these.

    +1

Light, comfy, fast and grippy. What more could you want?

Oh, right... They're relatively cheap and so far (touch wood) no punctures.
