stolen bike checker ????

hi im a total noob when i comes to mountain bikes but iv decided to buy one for the exercise.

iv decided to buy a used bike but am abit worried about buying a stolen one.

is there a way of checking the serial number to see if the bike is stolen or not.

    I've never heard of anything like that, but if you were to express that to any seller I think you'd get a good idea of the bike's true ownership. :D

    I think that immobilize site has a £1.99 check system. I highly recommend putting ALL your expensive gear on there as the Police use it too for all euipment (not just bikes)...

    yep, immobilise and checkmend should do it. also worth giving the local police a call with the frame number, they will gladly run a check for you.
