Is my patriot worth upgrading?

I've got a patriot FR 05/06 and was thinking of upgrading the manitou swinger 3 (coil) for something like a Fox Van R (£200) or Fox DHX 4.0 (£300).
I generally use the bike for aggressive xc and dh and run a pair of 55 atas up front.
Anyone done anything similar?
Is it worth the expense?

It depends, what's wrong with your current shock? To be honest, you might as well get an air shock, saves a hell of a lot of weight and really they don't perform any less well than a coil shock if you have a good one (fox DHX 4/5 air)0
