Nice title lol.
Anyway. Changed my old bikehut hydraulic's for some juicy 5's. Rear needed bleeding so i made up my own kit like i did with the bike hut brakes. Followed the avid destructions and bled then with no prob's. Lever was solid and all was good. Flipped the bike up onto its back wheel to return it to it home and while i'm wheeling it around i try the brake and its now lost its feel and it is spongy. Put it back on 2 wheels and pump the lever and it has improved but not perfect. I reckon in flipping it up, I've just disturbed some air that the bleed didn't remove which has made the lever soft. Agreed? Or not? :)

You should never pull the levers when upside down as it draws air in.

    Rebleed ;-)

Ah bugger. Never knew that. Cheers fella. Practice will do me good lol.
Where does it pull the air from?
  • I've got the same question. Why would pulling the lever when upside down make any difference, it's a closed system?

after a poor bleed where there has been air left in the reservoir.

    after a poor bleed .

    Ouch, that told me :D

Seriously, I thought it would just be an airlock somewhere i hadnt got rid of that has moved with gravity.

It's a bit of cash but the avid bleed kit really does give a perfect bleed every time and you'll make hardley any mess. well worth the cash

Nothing wrong with my bleed kit. Couple of syringes, tubing and pipe clamps. Thats all the avid kit is, mine cost me 3 quid for the pipe clamps and I already had the syringes, tubing and m5 fittings from my last kit. Noooo way am I paying 40 quid for that :D

Anyway. Done it again. and done it properly this time. Feels fine. :)
