FYI.
Take a look at some of the clientele that dominates Jesmond and you may be right.
"Yah, daddy bought me this Bentley and a Rolex today".
And they wonder why they get turned over by the west and east end charvas.
Usually I'd find that type of behaviour abhorrent, but for some reason I just can't bring myself not to enjoy the tormenting of rarrs "A cyclist has nothing to lose but his chain"

I live in jesmond and can confirm this is exactly how it is. I come from a pretty middle class background and get hardly as much financial help as the average student there. It is a painful place to live regarding this, i plan to leave this year and live somewhere more down to earth.0 -
come and join me in the wall, there are not enough blkers in byker.0

What are you on about? There are loads of bikes in Byker. Ok maybe not of the pedal persuasion but you get the drift.
Christ lad, a cyclist in the Wall. Brave or daft?0 -
I did my masters at the uni in the marine technology department. Didnt think much of it to be honest. If your a med student you'll love it cant comment on the arts though. Newcastle is ok, has plenty going on for everyone.
Good bike scene with plenty of local clubs, tyneside vagabonds and gosforth wheelers to name 2.
Northumberland, my home county, is the best place for cycling especially if you like the hills and cafes
If you like the look of the uni and the course you will love living here.0 -
It's a lovely place. i spent two year werkin' there on the quayside, some of the friendliest folk you'll ever meet.. night life at the weekends is an eye opener..
It's a nice ride on the hadrian cycleway - you can go from south shields/Walker/St Peters Basin - Ncl town centre all the way down as far as Newburn along the cycle paths.. lovely..
I miss the place )im based on the south coast ) and personally i loved my time being in the toon.
The Newburn cycle TLI crits are worth riding if u fancy them , or a watch, Thursays at 7pm.. i remember the pain well.. lolIT monkey.0 -
