I have posted this on the newbies forum but this is a more detailed Q.
I am just about to purchase my first road bike (budget £800) and have seen in my LBS a Cube Peleton 09 Triple which has 105 throughout (except crank which is FSA hollowtech) and Fulcrum 7 rims. At £799 this seems to me to be very good value for an above entry bike. My only concern is that the top tube geometry is not as 'relaxed' as the Trek 1.5 or Willier Escape (both Tiagra) which are the other bikes I have in mind. My intention is to use bike for fitness and to enter a few sportives and perhaps join club.
Therefore my question is this. Is it better to get more for your £s or go down in spec for same £s but have a bike that is a bit more 'relaxed' to ride?
The other thing I cannot get away from to make a qualified decision is that the Cube is a bloody sexy looking bike in comparison to any that I have seen in this price braket. And it only weighs 9.2kgs, for an ally bike this seems very light.
Over to you experienced riders.

The cube is a great bike, the riding position can be altered by flipping the stem or a shorter stem.
I ride a trek and have had a few and i love them but at this price the cube looks good, the triple will be great if your a beginner and you'll be doing sportives.
Check bike reviews and you'll see cube are a quality make, all three are good but the cube would be my first choice, willier second and the trek third..0 -
Thanks for the advice Warrior. I have been looking/researching for last half year while saving pennies and at moment just cannot see anything better from a LBS.Always be yourself, unless you can be Aaron Rodgers....Then always be Aaron Rodgers.0
