he was planning to go for the hour record again, on a bike he took to bike radar live last year. But i believe he's since pulled out of that attempt. Despite training go well, or so id heard.
It would be great for him to have the last laugh against boardman after all the rivalry in the 90s, but who knows. Think he has a twitter account? I havent found it yet though.
If you haven't id recommend watching The Flying Scotsman, its an auto biographical-esque film. about his hour record the week before boardman did it on his lotus machine.0 -

Are you thinking of Battle of the Bikes? That's the documentary about the rivalry between Obree and Boardman. The Flying Scotsman is the film with Jonny Lee Miller about Obree, I thought was rather terrible, too many inaccuracies for me.
Just get the book, "The Flying Scotsman" instead...0 -
Yes greasedscotsman,it was Battle of the bikes,a channel 4 programme.0

Yeah, i thought the film was quite enjoyable, and of course its not going to be that accurate its an adaptation. Havent got round to reading the book yet, but im sure itll set the record straight.0

He'll be working with me and Simon Brotherton at the track world champs in Copenhagen next week. Commentary on 5 Live Sports Extra on Thursday, Friday and Sunday-- Dirk Hofman Motorhomes --0

Confused...
The Battle of the Bikes documentary is different from the film "Flying Scotsman"which is fairly true to the book and his life.
An extremely moving filmHe that buys land buys many stones.
He that buys flesh buys many bones.
He that buys eggs buys many shells,
But he that buys good beer buys nothing else.

The film has a bit of Hollywood about it in reference to some of the facts, and avoids the real mental battles that GO goes into in the book.
The film is worth a watch, but the book really gives an insight into the man and the battles he fought to be who he is.
I rode from Geneva to Nice with him last year, and he is about as funny a guy as you could want to spend time with.
He is an amazing character, and should have been rewarded much better than he was for the contributions he made to British cycling...Complicating matters since 19650 -

I watched the film completely on my own in a cinema in Milton Keynes. I was kinda tricky when I walked in as I didn't know where to sit0

I saw the film on the plane completely by chance, I didn't even know it had come out!
If he was planning another hour record I'm sure the UCI would have found another way to stop him from competing...0 -
He fixed my grifter when he had a bike shop in Irvine, back in the mid eighties.0

Did you take it in with a flat tyre and it came back with a weird set of handlebars and a 150in gear!0 -
The reason he didn't manage to do his attempt on the hour record was that he had not tested the bike he built on banking, when he got round to doing so it was too unstable to be safe.
Not the UCI.Not climber, not sprinter, not rouleur0 -

No, but it did have a spin cycle and fabric softener drawer attatched. Lefyovers from hs bike I reckon.0 -
Watching the Track Champs last night I do wonder how Graeme would get on with the current Team GB setup?0

ah no, in the film it was refering to his saddle, saying he couldn't use it as it wasn't commercially available so he got one off a kids bike. If that is true that's pretty funny :-)0
