Apologies if this has been asked before
my front hayes stroker trail disk brake has loads of slack in it, so when i apply the lever it bottoms out, and doesnt spring back out again. i have tried bleeding it several times, and even tried completely replacing the brake fluid. it still has the same problem. any thoughts on what i can do to fix this?
thanks

have you adjusted the lever reach?

  • yes, having fiddled with it some more it seems that the brakes do work, but the lever doesnt spring back after depressing it, it just slowly moves back.

a bleed may sort it but make a note of the fluid colour as if it is blackish the seal may be on the way out.
