Beginner looking for reference info on bike set up etc

I'm planning on buying a MTB (see my thread in the MTB buying advice forum). I'd like to improve my knowledge about bike set up, learn the terminology (e.g. what is meant by bottom bracket), learn the differences in frame geometry and how it affects headling etc.

Are there any good books or web sites that I can be pointed at to get me started?
