Dura Ace Variants 7700, 7800, 7900 etc???

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how you differentiate between the different variants, in particular the shift levers, Is there an easy way to tell?

I am used to Campag and have the opportunity to buy a 2008 bike, full dura ace and want to know what level of Dura Ace it will have on - I am guessing 7800??

    7900 is the latest dura ace, 7800 the one before that etc etc. I would think a 2008 bike will come with 7800.

    My new ribble is coming with full 7900 :)

    The groupset number is usually stamped on the inside of the chainset.

    An 08 model should have 7800 yes.
